In our vision for Girls With Ideas, we ask “what is the problem you are in love with solving?” For us, that answer is simple: close the gender leadership gap by teaching girls at a young age how to be creative, confident leaders.
We also talk a lot about being willing to go where our dreams take us, to take risks and follow our gut – even if our voices shake. Well, your Girls With Ideas team is doing just that!
Girls With Ideas has been accepted into the Iowa Startup Accelerator (ISA) and we want you to come on this journey with us
What’s a startup accelerator? A startup is a young company that is in its early stages. Accelerators are organizations that support the development of young companies through education, mentorship and resources over a fixed time period. The ultimate goal is to help these companies define and build solutions that solve their customer’s problem and lead to a successful venture.
So, for the next 90 days we are going to soak in the knowledge and experiences offered through the ISA, ask lots of questions and try new things so we can make Girls With Ideas what YOU need it to be.
Just like you, we are Girls With Ideas. Follow along as we document what building an Idea in progress really looks like.
Iowa Startup Accelerator, the flagship program of the New Bohemian Innovation Collaborative (NewBoCo), is Iowa’s first time-boxed accelerator. It matches tech-based startups, especially those in ag, health, education, manufacturing, and transportation technology, with world-class mentors, Midwestern work ethic, seed funding, and development expertise to take them from concept to successful launch in 90 days.
